Film Night and AGM 2021

Film Night Sem 1 2021

This event was held online and in person. If you missed out on the event you can watch the films by following the links below.

The first film follows the day in life of an interpreter and a game of phone tag during her busy day. Watch ‘BLACK’ A Short Film about Auslan Interpreters here.

In the second film busy parents Sue and Paul decide to get help from social worker, Joanne, to prepare their youngest daughter Libby, who is deaf, for the big step of starting school. Joanne and Libby bond almost immediately, with Joanne beginning to teach a responsive Libby British Sign Language.  You can watch The Silent Child on YouTube or Kanopy.

The final film was shot here at the University of Sydney and shows a love story between a hearing and a Deaf student as they communicate through notes, Auslan, lipreading and the national relay service. You can watch Quiet Signs of Love here.

After the film screening we had our AGM with our elections and presidents report, see reports 2021 for full details.
